This website, although updated less frequently now, is centered around "freighthopping, hoboes, and boxcar art". There is a section of photographs relating to train riding, railroads in general, and local scenery. The section on articles lists newspaper and magazine references to freighthopping. The stories section has lots of recollections of memorable (and not so memorable) train trips by riders in the last 30 years. There is a page of links to various websites with similar content, and several ways to search this site for specific keywords in over 1,300 pages and over 4,000 images. A comprehensive bibliography of books on railroading and freighthopping can be found at the companion website, the "Black Butte Center for Railroad Culture.
