These are some photos I took on a hike/thrash up to the overlook to Whitney Falls. The last time I hiked up here was probably 10 years ago, and since the area has now been designated as a Wilderness, the casual "jeep trail", not benefitting from being mowed down by vehicles for 10 years, has acquired a formidable array of trees and shrubs to do battle with, and what used to be a "walk in the park" is now a reasonably serious outing. On the day I chose to hike, a steady light rain, unfamiliarity with the now-10-year-old countryside, and a prodigious amount of wine led to an hour or so of thrashing aimlessly through shoulder-high manzanita, until the "trail" was regained and upward progress was maintained.

were lost for lack of water were made up in sporadic rockfall.
